Dublin got an official Snapchat story. It made everyone cringe.

YESTERDAY, DUBLIN GOT an official Snapchat story.

For the uninitiated: this means that users of the site could upload photos and video from Dublin, and Snapchat collected the best into a package. People all over the world could then watch it from the ‘Stories’ tab.

It also meant that Snapchat users got a new set of filters.

So what ended up in the story? Well, it was basically the most Irish thing ever.

We started off with a bit of ‘early morning’ Irish dancing:

Before moving on to the important topics of pints:

GAA:

Craic:

And Molly Malone:

Much of Ireland was collectively mortified.

There was a feeling that, eh, stereotypes may have been at play.

 

And that the real Dublin might look a bit different.

On the flipside though, it DID make Dublin look lovely in the sunshine:

And people around the world were loving it so much, they were threatening to immigrate.
