Remember the old fresco lady? She's sold a painting for €1,000
THE ELDERLY WOMAN who took it upon herself to restore a 19th century fresco of Jesus Christ, with some interesting results, has sold some of her original artwork on eBay.
Cecilia Gímenez had tried to cash in on her handiwork after she turned the Ecce Homo fresco into a tourist attraction in the Sanctuary of Mary Church near the north-eastern Spanish city of Zaragoza.
If you carry out a simple comparative study of what the fresco looked like originally, and what it looked like after she was finished with it, you might deduce that Ms Gímenez might not be of great artistic ability:

Now however, she’s sold one of her original paintings on eBay for over €1,000 after 52 people bid on it. The money raised will go to the Catholic charity Cáritas.
