EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.
James Corden’s first show of a full week based in London started last night – and his opening monologue addressed the attack of last Saturday as the host walked the streets.
Later in the show, Corden had something very special up his sleeve: the much-anticipated Ed Sheeran Carpool Karaoke:
All the tunes you’d expect were banged out, but the highlight might well have been a story Ed told about a recent encounter with his pal Justin Bieber – brought about by this observation from the host:
“What I like about you is that you still like drinking in a dive bar or a little skanky pub”
“What I enjoy most is bringing people who don’t drink in dive bars and skanky pubs to said dive bars and skanky pubs.”
Like who? Well, he had a recent tale of boozing with Justin Bieber to entertain us:
I was in Tokyo the other day and Bieber was there. Just him, with no security, came to this really, really filthy dive bar. Oh god, we ended up at this golf course and he put a golf ball in his mouth and said ‘go on, hit it out’ – I was pretty hammered, and I was like ‘focus, focus, focus, you can’t hit him’
I had this driving wood, and I went and cracked him across the face. He was actually really cool about it, surprisingly. He was like ‘oh, bro’ and then just carried on.
And, appropriately enough, Ed launched into Love Yourself.
Given that whole Princess Beatrice sword story turned out to be pure shite, we’re going to take this golfing anecdote with a hefty pinch of salt.
Still, the thought of the two lads hitting a golf course after the pub is one we could absolutely get on board with.
Liam Payne attended the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards 2017 in London last night – and took his opportunity on stage to take a bit of a swipe at Zayn Malik.
Just as he went to present James Corden with the Man Of The Year gong, he mentioned his former bandmate in his speech:
One Direction never had a slogan but if we had, Zayn might have stayed
Ooooh.
He also took the chance while on the red carpet to talk about his new baby – apparently Cheryl has got him sleeping a regular seven hours a night:
Not bad for Bear.
The red carpet at the Awards were packed out of it with all the familiar faces.
