Ed Sheeran had a puck about in Croke Park ahead of his gig tonight

You can’t play in Croke Park without learning about GAA. You just can’t.

CROKE PARK IS currently packed to the rafters with Ed Sheeran fans for the first of the singer’s massive gigs this weekend.

Look at them all there!

And it looks like Ed found the perfect way to stave off the nerves backstage: hurling.

At a press conference at the stadium earlier today, he was asked if he knew anything about GAA. Short answer? Not much.

I went to an Aussie Rules final in Australia and they were saying that Gaelic football is just like Aussie Rules but with a different ball. So I’ve kind of gotten my head around that, but hurling… Not so much. I haven’t really seen a hurling game yet.

He’s definitely learned a little bit since this morning, though – the singer was spotted playing with a hurl and a sliotar backstage before tonight’s show.

His immersion in Irish culture didn’t stop there – Ed was later joined on stage by Swords band Kodaline to sing their hit All I Want, and also performed a cover of Raglan Road:

Magical. And tomorrow night he’ll do it all over again. Excited yet, Saturday night people?
