Ed Sheeran popped over to his Irish cousin's wedding in Spiddal

Musician Laura Sheeran’s three-day ‘wedding festival’ took place over the weekend.

HE MAY BE a wildly successful singer-songwriter with legions of fans around the globe, but family still comes first for Ed Sheeran.

The singer took time out from his busy schedule to attend his Irish cousin’s wedding in Connemara over the weekend.

Laura Sheeran, who is also a musician, married keyboardist Mark Aubele in a festival-themed ceremony (dubbed #wedstock) at Cnoc Suain, a restored 17th-century village near Spiddal.

The couple said their I dos at a standing stone dating back to 1000 BC.

It’s not clear if Ed lent his voice to the celebrations, but they weren’t short of musical acts to entertain the guests – Bell X1 also played a tune or two.

Following Irish wedding tradition, we’re sure he danced to Maniac 2000 at 2am and whirled his tie about his head to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck. It has to be done, Ed.
