Here's why everyone is talking about Ellen DeGeneres' speech at the Teen Choice Awards
OVERNIGHT, THE CELEBRITY-PACKED Teen Choice Awards took place in the States, which saw the regular clatter of A-listers descend on stage to collect their awards.
But it was the inspirational acceptance speech of Ellen DeGeneres – who won the award for best comedian – that has everyone talking this morning. She started off on a light note:
“I just want to say right now that I am pro teen choice. Just want to get that out there.”

“I wanna say also it feels good to be chosen but there was a time in my life that I was not chosen.”

“I was the opposite of chosen because I was different, and I think I wanna make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now, makes you stand out later in life.”
