IKEA has really, really annoyed a bunch of people by discontinuing a type of shelf
HOW DO YOU piss off some European hipsters?
Take a lesson from IKEA.
The furniture super giant announced that it will discontinue its EXPEDIT range and it brought out absolute rage* in vinyl record collectors.
A German Facebook page set up to save the shelves has already garnered 18,000 ‘likes’. As they lament the loss of the flat-pack furniture, the fibreboard lovers share photos of their most prized possessions.
Really, we think they’re just trying to show off their music collections.
They argue that the EXPEDIT is the perfect shelving arrangement for vinyls. Although IKEA has promised that its new KALLAX range will be even better than the original, the masses are not soothed.
Others, are looking at it as an opportunity. Smart.
*or quite mild disappointment
