Suspected home explosion turns out to be just a huge mess
BIT EMBARRASSING, THIS. Has your mam ever told you that your room looks like a bomb hit it? This house in Calgary, Canada, literally does.
Firefighters responded to a possible house explosion in the area on Tuesday, when crews were called by someone passing by the house who grew concerned with the debris scattered outside it. Two dozen police officers and firefighters investigated the scene, sealing off several streets around the house and evacuating nearby homes.
But, rather awkwardly, it turned out that the house always looks like that.
Speaking to Global News, firefighter Paul Leblanc said the passer-by “saw the debris on the front yard, and assumed that it was an explosion”. After some investigation, it turned out that “Basically, it’s a person who has a messy front yard”.
The house was in such a mess that firefighters actually wore hazmat masks to inspect it. The owner hasn’t returned yet and it’s unknown if they’ll face bylaw charges yet.
Only one thing’s for sure, their ma will give them a mighty smack when she hears about this.
