IF YOU’RE THE kind of person who borrows erotic novels from your local public library, you may wish to beware.
Beware of this book in particular. It may have herpes.
Two university professors in Antwerp chemically analysed the ten most borrowed books from the city’s public library.
Fifty Shades of Grey showed traces of the herpes virus. Yes, herpes. The same virus that you may get from carefree unprotected sex.
According to Flanders News, the virus was only present in low, non-health-endangering concentrations. But still.
Meanwhile, all ten books (including a series of comic strips) tested positive for cocaine. Anyone tested after reading the books would risk a positive cocaine result also, the researchers found.
