He later explained that he developed ticks when he broke up with his ex-boyfriend after a small breakdown. He was soon diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, causing him to come out with some pretty random comments. He explained:

I was in love and took that break up very hard. I just didn’t think that I could cope. It was at that time that the ticks started.
I couldn’t even speak because I was ticking constantly. I remember my dad getting really upset and I could tell that he was trying to hold back tears and so because of that I thought the best way to deal with that was to joke about it.
I don’t know if it will go or if it will stay, but either way I’ve changed and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

He explained to part-time model Kai that he hopes to become a qualified mental health nurse:

I just want to help people, I had my own mental issues. I had a breakdown back in 2013, that was my Britney’s 2007

The pair got on BRILLIANTLY, with Kai also opening up about his past depression and mental health issues

And guess what? They stayed together

We love a happy ending.
