They've FINALLY put out the call for participants in Irish First Dates
COCO Television COCO Television
AS A CONCEPT First Dates sounds potentially horrifying, cringeworthy and car crash-esque.
However, as the Channel 4 show has shown us, the opposite tends to be true, with heartwarming, funny, sometimes awkward and often romantic tales emerging from two strangers sitting opposite each other in a restaurant, in front of TV cameras.

The format is coming to Ireland next year; it will be on RTÉ 2 in early 2016, and they’ve finally put the call out for participants.
Single people of all ages are encouraged to get in touch if they think it could work for them.
Producers are still on the hunt for the perfect Maitre D’ to anchor the show, and the venue where it will be filmed is being kept under wraps for the moment. That venue will be fitted with a number of ‘fixed’ cameras, which will record various dates and happenings as they occur.
The application process involves things like describing yourself in 50 words, giving details of your relationship history and detailing your dream date.
The makers of the show have said they’re out to present something that’s sweet and engaging and are counting on the Irish “inimitable warmth of personality and unique sense of humour”.
We’re excited about this one. Very excited. And we’re saps. Saps for love <3
