A guy on Channel 4's First Dates told his date to pay 'another ten quid' on her half of the bill

Oh.

THE FORMAT OF First Dates seems to have a handy way to starting raging arguments on the topic of bill etiquette.

Last week’s First Dates Ireland sparked chats about the awkward splitting of the bill when yer man asked for cash back from his date when he paid on the card.

Channel 4 aired a Valentine’s special last night and Elaine and Steve were at the centre of a similarly awkward moment

It started out shakily – but nothing major – when Steve was a little taken aback by the price of the meal

They agreed to go halves, but the amount she gave didn’t quite meet his expectations

“Put another ten quid with it”

Ooooohhh Steve.

It didn’t go down well, as you’d expect

It’s not exactly the subtle approach such situations call for

She said in the interview after that she “had some concerns about the bill”

Which was a polite way of putting it.

A second date?

“I don’t think so”

That extra tenner might not have been worth it

A one-off special, back with a bang

Guaranteed drama.
