TRANSGENDER MODEL ANDREJA Pejic has become the first transgender female model to front a major cosmetics campaign.
Make Up Forever have hired Pejic for their ‘Be Bold. Be Unexpected. Be You’ campaign. The campaign revolves around issues of individuality and self-expression.
The 23-year-old Australian underwent gender reassignment surgery last year, and has since featured on the pages of Vogue magazine. This new campaign will be featured in print and online from July 16.
She told WWD it was “a dream” to have the cosmetics contract.
Being bold is about freedom. It’s hard for anyone to grow up and not be afraid of what others think. Makeup helps me express myself, and I’ve used it in varying ways throughout my life.
It helps that she looks fierce with it too.
