9 of the most full-coverage foundations you can buy right now

Serving face.

INSTAGRAM USHERED IN a new era for foundation – an era which called for all flaws to be eradicated and for skin tone to be effortlessly even.

Luckily, the market responded accordingly, with foundations that are less like smearing tar on your face and more like a real life filter for your face.

If you’re looking for an upgrade, one of these should do the trick.

1. Dermacol Make Up Cover (€11.19 from here)

This stuff is nothing short of magic – and has an Irish stockist in Carethy’s Pharmacy, low and behold.

Dermacol Make Up Cover gives pretty much instantaneous coverage, but it has divided opinion among the beauty community. For the price though, it’s certainly worth trying.

2. Estée Lauder DoubleWear (€36 from here)

A long-standing fave or revered beauty YouTuber NikkieTutorials, this provides medium to build-able coverage. No touch-ups needed!

3. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (€31.50 from here)

This is medium to full coverage foundation that manages to still look like skin. How? We don’t know. Witchcraft, probably.

4. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (available from Harvey Nichols)

This stuff’s only out a wet week, but it’s already making waves in terms of the coverage it provides.

Why the lack of ‘e’ in filter though? IDK.

5. Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation (€36.80 from here)

Brown Thomas and Arnotts have begun stocking this brand, so hopefully this will be on shelves soon for an in-store try.

Probably not the best if you’re on the oilier side, but otherwise, smack it on!

6. Urban Decay All Nighter Longwear Foundation (€35 from here)

Following in the footsteps of its big sister setting spray, this stuff is legit staying on your face until you say so. Result!

7. Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation (€34.50 from here)

This stuff is impenetrable. I would strongly recommend getting colour-matched for this though in store, as oxidization can sometimes me you end up a different colour upon application.

8. Catrice Liquid Foundation Drops (€7.95 from here)

Now, the claim that this will last 24 hours is a stretch. But it does give a lovely long-lasting matte finish – a pleasant surprise given that it costs pittance.

9. Stila Stay All Day Foundation (€34.50 from here)

This has loads of skin healthy ingredients loaded into it, including anti-oxidant Vitamin E to moisturise and the Retinoid Retinyl Palmitate, which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and enlarged pores. Gorge.
