Elsa may well be getting a girlfriend in Frozen 2, and Twitter is here for it
SO FOR THOSE of you who may not be in the know, there is a school of thought that believes the most celebrated track on the Frozen soundtrack is a coming-out song.
Let It Go makes reference to a need to conceal feelings countered with an innate desire to communicate something – lyrics which many felt spoke to a narrative associated with the LGBTQ community.
And with that, an idea took flight.
Following the news that a Frozen sequel was in the works, Disney fans took to social media to encourage the folk behind the film to create a girlfriend for Elsa.
With the help of the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend hashtag, word reached the film’s stars and execs who are only too delighted with the idea.
Indeed, writer and co-director, Jennifer Lee, has welcomed the outpouring of interest in her lead character, and her potential storyline.
“Elsa’s every day telling me where she needs to go, and she’ll continue to tell us,” Jennifer added.
Naturally, Twitter is overjoyed by the possibility.
