Galway wants to open Ireland's first 'penguinarium' so penguins can "hang out"
WHO FROM THE West of Ireland has not petted a big fish at Galway Atlantaquaria at some point?
Future visits are set to become even better because: Penguins.
The Connacht Tribune reports that the owners of the aquarium are planning an extension to the building in Salthill which will include a special area dedicated to penguins.

The penguinarium has been on the table for a while now – in 2010, Fianna Fáil’s Éamon Ó Cúiv had to defend his plans to give €672,500 in state funds to the project.
Galway City Cllr Donal Lyons has said that a place where penguins could “hang out” (his words) would work with the zoning of the area:

We’re not fluent in political jargon, but what we think he’s saying is: Penguins are good for business and good for everyone. Bring us the penguins.
