King Joffrey, and the way her might look at you HBO

Game of Thrones makers think illegal downloading is "better than an Emmy"

Land of torrents and files.

THE BIG WIGS behind Game of Thrones don’t care if you downloaded their show, because they take it as a compliment.

The CEO of Time Warner Jeff Bewkes (Time Warner owns HBO, which broadcasts Game of Thrones in the US) said during an earnings conference call that:

Game of Thrones is the most pirated show in the world.
That’s better than an Emmy.

What’s that now Mr Big Wig? You’re happy that people are taking a five-fingered discount on your show?

Bewkes explained that a large number of people watching a programme without a subscription usually leads to a larger number of people paying for subscriptions, and so the word-of-mouth achieved through the pirating of Game of Thrones is invaluable.

Bewkes also said that Time Warner has been dealing with the piracy problem for 30 years, and that in their experience it definitely has its positive aspects.
