3 DOORS DOWN are an American rock band who played a gig earlier this week that has since brought them to the world’s attention.
Why? Well, in the middle of their show in Colorado, the lead singer Brad Arnold saw a man in the audience push a woman out of the way - so he stopped the gig to get him thrown out at. You can see it happen 45 seconds into this clip:
A fan captured the footage on her phone and then sent it on at the band’s request so they could upload it to YouTube.
In the footage, you see Brad halt the band playing and call out the audience member:
Hang on, hang on, hang on. Hey, hey homie. You don’t hit a woman. You just pushed a woman out of the way to get in a fight, you d**k! Get him the hell out of here.
He’s won major plaudits on Twitter and elsewhere for being prepared to stop everything
And other musicians were quick to praise him
The guitarist Chris Henderson spoke to Time about the whole incident, and was glad that his lead singer stepped in like that:
When he did it. I was like, man, I’m really glad you did that, because that was gonna get really ugly really quick.
As Time reports, the guitarist and lead singer had a discussion after the gig and decided it was the right thing to do:
When Arnold questioned whether he was right to stop the music after the concert, Henderson told him he had done the right thing: “Your morals kicked in,” he said.
*applause*
