Google Maps' addictive new game lets you catch wild Pokémon in Ireland

You’ve got to be the very best, like no one ever was.

IF YOU WERE a massive Pokémon fan when you were younger prepare to have the most unproductive day ever.

Google Maps has set us all an April Fools Day Pokémon Challenge, hiding 150 of the pocket monsters in locations around the world for app users to find and capture. All you need to do is zoom in.

DailyEdge.ie gave it a go this morning and was delighted to discover some rather curious creatures in Ireland.

The first was spotted lurking in the middle of Dublin’s St Stephen’s Green.

We weren’t long whipping out the Pokéball though, and captured the wild Pumpkaboo without too much trouble.

Our Pokémon adventure also took us to Cork and Belfast, where we spotted a few more of the marvellous monsters lurking around.

We only managed to capture three of the 150 up for grabs around the world before realising we’d eaten up quite a few precious minutes, but that doesn’t mean others can’t spend the day finding the rest of them.

You’ll need to download the newest version of Google Maps for iOS or Android to play, but once you’ve set yourself up you’ll be lost forever.
