A MAN IN Perth, Australia thought it would be an excellent photo opp to climb onto the carcass of a whale that was being circled by hungry sharks.
According to ABC, the man is said to have swam to the whale from a nearby boat and posed for a photo on the rotting carcass.
But he wasn’t alone. Western Australia lifeguards sent out this tweet, warning that tiger sharks and a white shark attracted by the carcass were circling off the coast of Rottnest Island where the man was spotted.
The Department of Fisheries regional manager Tony Cappelluti said that approaching the water around a large food source like the whale was very risky. Speaking to the West Australian, he said the man’s behaviour was highly irresponsible.
It potentially could have had some critical consequences, not only for the person but also for the witnesses and other people that would have had to assist. Irrespective of some type of adrenaline rush or whatever you’re trying to get out of performing that type of act, it’s highly risky.
The slowest of all claps.
