DESPITE REPORTS THAT it was set to be a mixed bag on the weather front in Ireland this weekend, word still got out that it we were in for a “heatwave”.

But predictably enough, the opposite has happened.

And naturally everyone is taking the piss in beautifully sarcastic fashion:

1. In fairness, we just have a different definition of the word here

2. “Some start to the heatwave we’re having lads!”

3. The response to the lack of good weather has been positively salty

4. There’s a certain entertainment to it all, really

5. There were Danny Healy Rae references all over the place

It’s the WRATH.

6. We all know that the term “Irish heatwave” is drenched in sarcasm at the best of times – but today was worse

7. Sure it’s a boiler out

8. We just need to remember this simple equation

When will we learn.
