IKEA said it's 'not facilitating' a massive game of Hide n Seek in Dublin

It’s on April 1st.

IT’S BEEN DONE before in Europe, but is Dublin going to see a massive game of hide-and-seek in IKEA Dublin next Wednesday?

That’s the question we’re trying to answer.

There has been a Facebook page set up for the event, and 7000 people have already signed up:

IKEA has released a statement to DailyEdge.ie saying that they are aware of the event, but will not be facilitating it in any way if it does happen:

While we appreciate playing hide and seek in one of our stores may be appealing to some, offering a fun, relaxed and safe shopping experience for our customers is our highest priority. We would not facilitate this kind of activity taking place in any of our stores.

However, the date of the planned game is April 1st – which has made everyone slightly suspicious of its legitimacy. The fact that it’s on a Wednesday won’t help the logistics, either.

IKEA do have to put up with this a lot though, with a branch in the Netherlands being forced to tell people to stop playing hide-and-seek in their stores. last year.

DailyEdge.ie has contacted the organiser of the Dublin game for comment, but have yet to hear word back.

We could see why people would be tempted for a game in IKEA, though, with all its gloriously minimalist places to hide.

Still, the fact that it’s on April 1st might be the key to this. Who will actually show?
