Yes, that's a horse INSIDE a chipper in Listowel
CUSTOMERS AND STAFF at Jumbo’s chipper in Listowel, county Kerry were stunned to see a horse bolt into the family restaurant on Friday afternoon.
Just before lunchtime, the horse was seen running down William Street before taking a left in through the front door – without slowing down.
Damien O’Mahony, the son of the owner (or Little Jumbo, as he is also known), told TheJournal.ie that the horse is fine and was not injured in the tumble he is seen taking.
A number of children had been playing with the animal in a nearby laneway when he got free and galloped ahead.
One girl who was closest to the horse when it entered suffered mild bruising and was in “a bit of shock”.
“She was fine in the end,” O’Mahony said. “And we didn’t charge her for the food.”
The restaurant decided to post the video because of the buzz it was creating around town.
“Jeepers, the horse ran all the way up the road and straight in the door. It skipped the laneway to the left. It also could have been worse though, there is a paint shop next door.”
The woman who can be calmly seen escorting the horse outside is O’Mahony’s sister who also works at the chipper, where no horsemeat is ever sold.
