LAST NIGHT, THE winners of the 12th IFTA Awards for Film and Drama were announced in a ceremony in Dublin’s Mansion House.
The Academy Award-nominated animated feature Song of the Sea was named Best Film, while Love/Hate took the title of Best Drama.
Domhnall Gleeson, Deirdre O’Kane, Sarah Greene, Moe Dunford, Aidan Gillen, Stephen Rea, Aisling Franciosi and Charlie Murphy were among the actors who took home prizes on the night for their performances in film and TV.
The event, which was initially postponed after last year’s live debacle, was hosted by Caroline Morahan and will be broadcast on TV3 next Monday.

8. Meanwhile, fans of Outlander star Caitriona Balfe even started an #IFTAforBalfe campaign
The Outlander star was nominated for two awards last night and caused fans to start an #IFTAforBalfe campaign in her honour.
Unfortunately, the actress walked away empty-handed.
Don’t despair, Balfe fans. We’re sure her time will come.
