Imelda May has spoken about sitting beside Leonardo DiCaprio at the McGregor fight... it's the Dredge

Get your dirt.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

It was one of the many, many subplots in the run up to the Mayweather vs McGregor bout: Imelda May getting tapped to sing the Irish national anthem by McGregor’s team at the last-minute.

She appeared on the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio One yesterday to talk about the amazing experience – and emphasised just how rushed the appearance was:

I got a last-minute call from Conor and I jumped on a plane and before I knew it I was in the middle of a boxing ring singing our national anthem.
It was just enough time to book a flight and get on it and find a dress and put it in my bag.

And spoke about how pulling out of a festival to travel was a difficult decision:

It was a tough call… I was on a festival line-up in Rugby, and I never cancel gigs. I’ve only like twice moved a gig – other than that I’ve never ever cancelled a gig. Talked to the promoter and he was lovely. He said ‘I’m not thrilled about it, but go for it.’

The flight over featured some panicked cramming on the finer points of the anthem’s lyrics:

I was nervous that I’d get it wrong – that was my main thing. I thought ‘I don’t want to get it wrong’. I looked like the most patriotic flyer ever, I sat on the plane singing our national anthem Amhrán Na bhFiann for 11 hours straight.
I’d never sung it before, so I only half knew it like so many other people. I didn’t know it enough to sing it on international television but once I got the song into my head I felt calm.

And she revealed that she was sitting beside none other than Leonardo DiCaprio throughout the fight:

Leonardo DiCaprio was beside me and I think he thought I was just some mental woman. I was really going for it.
I was screaming, I was shouting, I was calling Mayweather every name under the sun.

Worth it for the free front row tickets alone, probably.

Given the current emergency situation in Houston, Texas following the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey, Kevin Hart has directly called on fellow celebrities to donate $25,000 to the cause.

Kevin himself has donated $50,000 and is imploring others to do the same in the next 24 hours:

Following a successful response, Hart is calling on more big names to row in and help the rescue effort:

DJ Khaled and Chris Brown are among those that have already pledged cash:

Baby Khaled was always going to be involved, somehow.

Kathy Griffin is neighbours with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in Bel Air… and has an ~out there~ theory on them.

Speaking to Australian radio station WSFM, Griffin said that the Wests are “obsessed” with her:

I think it’s been their dream [to live next door], I don’t care what they say because apparently they’re obsessed with me and spying on me

Kris Jenner confirmed the conspiracy, apparently:

You know what Kris admitted? She admitted that THEY spy on ME all the time and I said I knew it.

We totally believe you, Kathy. (Goss.ie)
