YOU KNOW THE drill.
Someone orders a delicious steak in a restaurant, or some eggs for brunch in a café, or takes the wrapper off a Loop The Loop, and next thing they’re photographing it to put on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… or all three.
Now, a study has found that taking photographs of your food actually diminishes your enjoyment of it.
The article in the Journal of Consumer Psychology “repeated evaluations of food have an effect similar to actual consumption – decreased enjoyment of foods that share a similar taste characteristic”.
According to the researchers the more photos of food that people look at, the less they enjoy the grub.
Tell that to the hipsters.
