IT HAS STARTED.
Last night, Mashable shared a video of something called Irish coddle pizza and described it as “the perfect dish for your St. Patrick’s Day party”.
This, despite the fact that every Irish person knows that coddle and pizza don’t even belong in the same room as each other, let alone in the same sentence.
So, what’s in this Irish coddle pizza, you ask?
First of all, the base is slathered in onion jam.
Then they throw some mashed potatoes on there.
You know, that classic pizza topping.
Next you sprinkle some cheddar cheese.
A smattering of bacon…
And sausage.
You know when the person in front of you in the deli queue asks for a roll with some hideous combination like coleslaw, sweetcorn and sausage? That’s what this pizza is like.
This is the final product.
Ah yes, just like the food our ancestors ate.
Irish people were not at all impressed with this take on Irish cuisine.
We demand an apology, Mashable.
