THERE ARE SOME really obvious things that Irish emigrants miss the most when they’re away from home.
And one of them is a massive, dirty feed when you’re absolutely dying.
So, with that in mind, a couple of Irish people in Toronto set up the ‘Irish Hangover Service’ over the weekend
Dubliner Ben Sheridan and Sarah Ormond set up the service as a pop-up restaurant in the Orchard Bar on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Their very Irish menu included:
- Full Irish fry
- Chicken fillet roll
- Breakfast roll
- Curry chips
- Garlic cheese chips
Exactly what any Irish emigrant in the city could hope for
22-year-old Ben told DailyEdge.ie that the two days of service went very well:
With the pop up restaurant being a huge success we are now sitting down to discuss a permanent business with the Irish food as our base and clientele but also to introduce this type of food to Canadians.
Canadians would surely lap it up – just as the Irish did over the weekend:
We run the restaurant like it was casual fine dining. But it wasn’t. It was hangover food with great service and people loved it.
Look at the garlic cheese chips they serve up
With things starting out well for the Hangover Service, Ben talks of some interesting culinary creations on the cards that merge both Irish and Canadian foods – like the Black Pudding Poutine.
But most intriguing of all is something that’s already in the pipeline:
We also have our next event planned. Irish Carvery Pop up
