If not, allow us to refresh your memory. The song featured Anna Kendrick singing a wholesome song called When You’re Gone, all the while performing an elaborate percussive routine with a cup.
It somehow became an enormous worldwide hit and, as of writing, has nearly 299 million views on YouTube.
And now, three years later, Heinz is seeking to capitalise on the success of the cup song with its very own… can song.
You may have seen the ad.
It hasn’t gone down well with everyone.
But you know who is really having none of it? Irish people.
Yesterday Heinz Ireland posted an instructional video teaching people how to perform the so-called ‘can song’ using an empty can of beans.

And, er, let’s just say that Irish people didn’t have the most enthusiastic response.
Merciless.
And another thing: what about the hazards associated with empty cans? We can already imagine the finger cuts.
