Irish lad and Canadian girl who met on flight kissed last night!

Jamie and Katie forever!

TWO WEEKS AGO today Jamie Kelly met a girl on a flight from Barcelona to Dublin.

Her name was Katie, and she was from Canada, and he was smitten.

Unfortunately he lost touch with her in Dublin Airport after becoming separated at passport control.

Was this the premature end of a potentially beautiful relationship? Jamie’s friends were determined to make sure it wasn’t.

They took to social media and with the help of both Irish and Canadian media, Katie was tracked down in Cork, and the pair were put back in touch.

Then yesterday… they met in Waterford. They went surfing. And they went for dinner.

BUT WHAT HAPPENED?

This morning Jamie and Katie appeared together on the Ray D’Arcy Show to tell their story.

So, was there chemistry?

YES! THEY KISSED!

Was there more than a kiss?

…Ray asked. The pup.

No, there wasn’t. Just a kiss. A passionate kiss, and nothing more.

As Jamie said:

I’m a good Catholic boy.

So what happens now? The problem is, Katie returns to Canada tomorrow morning to continue her studies for another year. Jamie’s on “builders holidays” from his job in Ballinasloe. He says it’s not really what he wants to be doing, and has been hoping for an information systems job in Dublin.

The eyes and the hearts of the nation and the world (the story has been covered in Time, Cosmo, E! News) are now on Jamie and Katie. Will they keep in touch? Will he travel to Canada? Will she come back to Dublin?

For today anyway, the pair will spend the rest of their time together. They’re planning on visiting the Dublin Writers Museum, and after that, who knows?
