IT’S ALL RIGHT everyone, you can calm down now – Jennifer Lopez will be performing at the World Cup opening ceremony after all.
Earlier this week, FIFA announced that “production issues” would prevent Lopez travelling to Brazil.
However it was revealed last night that she will be performing the official World Cup song, We Are One, with rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte at the ceremony.
The trio will be joined by Brazilian drumming collective Olodum as originally planned at Thursday’s kick-off, FIFA said.
As well as J Lo and Pitbull, the ceremony will feature acrobatic gymnasts, trampolinists, marshal arts-style capoeira performers and stilt walkers.
More than 60,000 people will be in Sao Paulo’s Corinthians Arena to watch the ceremony and kick-off match between Brazil and Croatia. Around a billion people are expected to tune in on TV worldwide.
