JENNY GREENE AND the RTÉ Concert Orchestra teamed up again last night for a reprise of that magical gig at Electric Picnic back in September.
They played to packed out 3Arena along with singer Gemma Sugrue, playing a range of nineties dance anthems, complete with lasers, visuals and tuxes.
Unfinished Sympathy, Silence, Adagio for Strings, Lola’s Theme, Insomnia and Missing were among the bangers whipping the crowd into several frenzies. Not a hint of Sunday night fear in sight.
Spotted in the audience were a number of older would-be ravers, who looked a little perplexed by all the whooping and dancing, and perhaps were expecting something a little bit more.. orchestra-y?
And not forgetting the amazing dancing brass section. Shake those bow ties lads!

The success of these shows suggests that this won’t be the last of this type of collaboration. In fact, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will perform at Hacienda Classical in the 3Arena on 17 December; a celebration of iconic tracks from the iconic Manchester club.
