Good news, Top Gear fans - Jeremy Clarkson says the show will be back

Perhaps even on the BBC.

JEREMY CLARKSON HAS made his first public appearance since his sacking in March and hinted that he’ll be back on our television screens sooner rather than later.

The beleaguered television host was hosting a charity auction in Chipping Norton when he assured the crowd that Top Gear would be “back, just somewhere else” and then teased that it could perhaps return to the BBC.

In the olden days, there used to be a television show called Top Gear, which was on the BBC. Oh, it’ll be back, just somewhere else. Or maybe even not somewhere else, who knows?

In an interview done to coincide with the auction, Clarkson was jokingly asked if he would consider being a lifeguard this summer. In response, he explained that he would be busy this summer.

I’ve got a bit of time on my hands now. Trust me, by this summer I won’t have.

This summer, you say? Hmm…

The news should come as a pleasant surprise to the thousands of fans who signed petitions demanding he be reinstated following his sacking.

Clarkson was sacked after a BBC investigation concluded that he had assaulted a producer in a now infamous “fracas”.

The presenter has kept a relatively low profile since he was sacked. He was scheduled to host Have I Got News For You on April 24th, but decided to pull out last week.
