Mayo's soundest taxi man is making a wonderful gesture to families finding Christmas difficult

An absolutely lovely offer.

YOU MIGHT REMEMBER Joe Freeley from his wonderful gesture to Leaving Cert students on their results night.

The taxi man, based in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, offered to take Leaving Cert students home for free, with an optional donation to Pieta House.

He told DailyEdge.ie back in August that he hoped the idea could spread to other areas:

I feel it’s my golden opportunity to highlight a great cause.

Now, he’s taken it on himself to bring the idea into the Christmas season, with a brand new offering.

Do you know a family who are finding circumstances difficult to celebrate Christmas? I am willing to take such a family on a day out to Castlebar/Sligo/Athlone for a few hours – pm me directly here on Facebook – ‘Christmas is for giving’.

The Oak Cafe Bar has even stepped up to offer a free breakfast or lunch to any families he picks up

A wonderful gesture. That’s what Christmas is all about.
