Kanye West promoters warn concertgoers to 'book travel in advance' after Arcade Fire chaos

MCD have said transport is “a matter for individual ticket-holders”.

CONCERT PROMOTERS MCD have warned people going to the Kanye West show in Dublin’s Marlay Park tonight to book their travel arrangements in advance.

The warning comes after many concertgoers were left stranded following the Arcade Fire and Pixies gig in the same venue on Sunday.

Some audience members had to walk for hours after the show when they were unable to get buses or taxis. One fan said he got a lift from a Dominos Pizza delivery driver who saw he was in difficulty.

In a statement, MCD said they were not operating any transport themselves for tonight’s show featuring Kanye West and Pharrell.

“The Promoter is not licensed to, nor do they operate any transport to and from the Marlay Park Dublin concerts,” the statement said.

Concertgoers have been advised to plan and book their return journey in advance. Fans who attended the concert/s to date and planned their return journeys in advance, encountered no unforeseen difficulties with their travel arrangements.

MCD are advising gig-goers that transport is “is a matter for individual ticket-holders themselves” and said they could car-pool, cycle, walk, take the LUAS or Dublin Bus, book onto the Marathon shuttle bus service, or arrange a taxi in advance.

Tickets can be booked for the shuttle bus here. The times are as follows:
