Kanye West's antics have boosted Beck's popularity on Spotify by 524%

Take that, Kanye.

KANYE WEST HAS inadvertently boosted the popularity of musician Beck after he stormed the stage at the Grammys on Sunday.

The rapper ran up on stage as Beck accepted his award for Album of the Year, then appeared to change his mind halfway through – he later said that Beck was “disrespecting artistry” and should have given his award to Beyoncé.

Beck didn’t seem too bothered by the outburst, saying that he too thought Beyoncé should have won Album of the Year.

From Rolling Stone:

I was just so excited he was coming up… I thought [Beyoncé] was going to win. Come on, she’s Beyoncé! You can’t please everybody, man. I still love [West] and I think he’s a genius. I aspire to do what he does.

Well, the whole thing has worked out in Beck’s favour, as people are now going mad for his music on Spotify.

According to Adweek, streams of his Grammy-winning album Morning Phase have jumped by 524%. Yes, five hundred and twenty-four per cent.

First Taylor Swift benefits from Kanye’s messing, now Beck. Ye, you may want to rethink your Beyoncé promotional strategy.
