Australian TV anchor wears same suit every day for a year to highlight sexism
MEET KARL STEFANOVIC.
He presents Australia’s Today morning TV show alongside Lisa Wilkinson. Ticked off by how his female colleague’s outfits were placed under a microscope and frequently criticised by both the media and the public, Stefanovic decided to conduct a little experiment.
He wore the same blue suit on-air every day for an entire year to see if anyone would notice. (Surprise, surprise: they didn’t.)
Stefanovic stated that he felt women were judged far more harshly for what they do, say and wear, whereas men weren’t held to the same standard.
As he told Fairfax Media:
The experiment has won Stefanovic legions of new fans.
