Kay Burley's best Sky News moments and meltdowns

Shine on you crazy diamond.

EVEN THOUGH THE royal baby boy was the star of the show yesterday, there was one person who came in a very close second…

…Kay Burley, of Sky News fame.

She nigh on lost the run of herself when the announcement was finally made yesterday evening, roaring “IT’S A SON”, lunging at clueless Brazilian tourists, and…

Burley is one of Sky News’ most recognisable and colourful journalists, covering countless breaking news events and sometimes getting herself into a bit of a bind.

Let’s have a look at some of her most memorable telly moments, kicking off with her current assignment…

Royal Baby

Burley has been camped out at St Mary’s hospital ever since the Duchess of Cambridge felt the first pangs of labour.

Her hysteria reached such heights when the baby’s birth was announced yesterday evening that a #PrayForKay hashtag emerged on Twitter.

Here’s the moment she broke the story on Sky News:

And the moment where she was actually lost for words:

Burley’s back out there today to keep the rolling coverage going.

She  even had to address suspicions that she’s wearing the same clothes as yesterday…

Ash Wednesday

Burley made a almighty gaffe when she questioned the appearance of ashes on US Vice President Joe Biden’s forehead…

Later in the segment she apologised, saying:

I know that I am a very bad Catholic. I know now that it is Ash Wednesday and I know that those are ashes on his forehead. I hang my head in shame.

Suffolk Strangler

Did she really just ask that question?
