This Kerry hotel's carvery was named the best in the country and it looks delish

Two years in a row.

THIS WEEK, IN a ceremony in Dublin, the Great Carvery of the Year 2016 Awards were handed out.

Split into two categories – pubs and hotels – the awards search the country for the very best carveries.

And this year, The Heights in Killarney won the national hotel award – and you can see why

The criteria for judging shows they take their carveries very seriously (as they should):

At the end of the day, quality and flavour are paramount – so it almost goes without saying that good meat, vegetables and gravy are a must. However consumers also said other elements were very important too, e.g. choice including such things as a choice of meats and other dishes including vegetarian and gluten-free options. Naturally value for money is important to and that doesn’t just mean the cheapest on offer as value has many components.

It looks like The Heights scored top in all these categories – and the carvery seems to be their specialty

This is the second year in a row they’ve won the Munster and Ireland categories.

Look at that succulent meat

And their carvery selection is something else

After nominations were received, The Great Carvery Awards judged using a mystery dining system

That must have been quite the enjoyable few weeks for the judges involved

Drooool.
