Kildare just scored Ireland's first 'otter crossing' sign
IF YOU GO down to Kildare today, you’re sure of a big surprise….
Not, not bears. OTTERS.
So many otters, in fact, that Kildare has procured Ireland’s very first Otter Crossing signage.

The signs have actually been in place on the Kilcock to Maynooth road since November and are there to warn motorists about Majestic River Cats (to give otters their proper names) crossing from the River Rye to the Royal Canal.
Kildare.ie reports that there have been a number of otters killed on the road in the past few years.
