ONE OF THE best ways to get yourself noticed in Hollywood is to associate yourself with the all mighty Kardashian family – and this Irish model was working on set with them yesterday.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians was filming a promo for E! yesterday and Irish model Shahira Barry was the stand in for Kim and the rest of the family.
Speaking to the Anton Savage Show on Today FM this morning, Shahira detailed what she actually did on set – saying she stepped in to the shots for lighting and camera positions to then be replaced by the stars when they were ready to film:
People are calling it a body double – but that’s not it at all! I’m just a stand in for Kim.
I’m so jealous that I don’t get to keep my video clips of the shoot though. I wish I could see mine!
Originally from Athenry, Shahira has had small roles in a host of other US productions in the last year from True Detective to Ted 2. She also appeared in the video for the Bruno Mars hit Uptown Funk:
Yeah I was in Uptown Funk - I am one of the girls walking back and forth with their legs. It was so much fun.
She finds all the chat about “starring” in True Detective a little far from the truth thought:
When people say I’m starring beside Colin Farrell I cringe. It takes away from the little bit of success I had.
Shahira started out studying for primary school teaching in Ireland before making the move to LA in 2013. Despite only being in the States for two years, her high profile minor roles have provided her with plenty of anecdotes for years to come:
I’m not where I want to be yet, but I have so many stories that I can tell my grandkids that are really bizarre for a girl from Athenry.
Asked by Anton, as she is standing in for Kim on set, can she match up to the star’s most famous of bodily attributes, Shahira laughed:
No, definitely not! I’m doing my squats trying to grow the booty though.
