You childhood fantasy just came true... a life size Lego car
TWO MEN HAVE built a life size car out of Lego, and it runs on nothing but air.
Australian Steve Sammartino and Romanian Raul Oaida used 500,000 Lego pieces to build the car, which was funded by online donations after Sammartino sent out a tweet inviting people to invest “in a project which is awesome and a world first”.
Forty people decided to get involved and were provided with a cryptic prospectus about what they were signing up for.
It turns out they were right to follow their instincts because Sammartino and Oaido came good on their promise.
Dubbed the ‘Super Awesome Micro Project’ the car has a Lego engine with four orbital engines and 256 pistons.
The top speed is only about 20-30 kilometres, but then again the car does run on compressed air.
The only non-Lego parts are the wheels and some load bearing elements.
