The heart-breaking image of the fan wearing a bag with Messi 10 written on the back to resemble an Argentina jersey is said to have first appeared on Turkish fan blogs.
The child is speculated to be from Dohuk in Iraq, and the photo has spread like wildfire, with many hoping to identify the fan to give him a real jersey.
A fan Twitter account, Messi10stats, who have over 700,000 followers, claim that Messi’s reps have reached out to them to find out who the kid is so they can arrange something for him.
