Madonna says she was 'artistically raped' by hackers... it's The Dredge

All the best of the day’s celebrity dirt.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

Madonna has addressed her recent album leak and likened it to “artistic rape”. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the singer called it “a form of terrorism” and criticised those who leaked the album.

In the post she wrote:

This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demo’s half of which wont even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved. This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy the artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?

Madonna since removed the post, probably after she realised likening your album being leaked to rape is not a wise move. Following the leak, she urged fans to refrain from downloading the album and to “#respectartandtheprocess”.

Kanye West apparently spent $74,000 on Christmas gifts for his daughter, North West. An “insider” told Heat that the rapper had spent $62,000 on a diamond tiara and $12,000 on a mini SUV.

Kanye’s reported thinking behind the extravagant purchases?

…so when she plays dress-up she’ll be a real princess.

Take it with a pinch of salt, we say. (3AM)

George Clooney says that he attempted to rally support for Sony from rival studios with a petition in the days following the leak. The actor told Deadline that he and his agent Byran Lourd devised a petition that expressed support for Sony in their efforts to not cave to the hackers’ demands.

That is why we fully support Sony’s decision not to submit to these hackers’ demands. We know that to give in to these criminals now will open the door for any group that would threaten freedom of expression, privacy and personal liberty. We hope these hackers are brought to justice but until they are, we will not stand in fear. We will stand together.

Clooney stated, however, that no other studios or major industry figures would sign the petition and sought to distance themselves from Sony, particularly following studio head Amy Pascal’s tasteless Obama joke.

Clooney spoke about the culture of fear permeating the industry right now and condemned the media’s decision to cover the leaks. He also spoke about the repercussions Sony’s decision to cancel The Interview could have on future projects.

We cannot be told we can’t see something by Kim Jong-un, of all f*cking people.

Food for thought. (Deadline)
