MEET ERIC ZIEGLER.
In the last year, the 30-year-old has lost over 200lbs through a combination of exercise and gastric sleeve surgery, which is an operation that reduces the size of your stomach to a fraction of its original size.
Here he is at 420lbs last year.

We’re sure you’ll agree that it’s a fairly monumental achievement.
To celebrate the incredible feat, Ziegler’s friends bought him a card for his birthday… a “Sorry for your loss” card.
Only they tweaked it slightly.

And made it quite clear that they were in fact celebrating his loss.

And included a $400 gift voucher so Ziegler could invest in a whole new wardrobe.

Ziegler uploaded the photos to Reddit two days ago and they have been viewed over 1.5 million times on Imgur since.
Explaining his decision to get surgery, he told fellow Reddit users that it helped him kick start his weight loss and that he now aims to continue with his healthier lifestyle.
Good man, Eric.
