Maniac 2000 DJ Mark McCabe will host 2fm's new chart show

Yeah yeah, funky yeah.

HE HAD THE nation dancing like they never danced before back in 2000 and now Mark McCabe is set to bring music to our ears every Friday night.

The DJ will helm a new weekly chart show on 2fm, counting down the official Irish Top 30 singles chart (compiled by ChartTrack for IRMA) between 8pm and 10pm.

McCabe previously hosted his own Saturday afternoon show on 2fm, and is looking forward to starting work on his new venture with the station.

“It’s been my ambition to bring the Irish charts back to the national airwaves for quite some time now and I’m delighted that 2fm will air the weekly chart show exclusively” he said.

Since the 2fm shake up – music has become a massive priority for the station. I’m really delighted to be part of the new schedule.

Speaking about McCabe’s appointment, 2FM boss Dan Healy said:

Who better than to present the charts than a chart topper! Mark McCabe is not only famous for ‘Maniac 2000’ but is an accomplished radio presenter. With listeners and contributors from other national stations contacting 2fm – we’re on the right track!

For those of you who’ve forgotten it, here’s McCabe’s famous track.
