Hilarious Cork animation Martin's Life to be screened at US festivals
HILARIOUS CORK ANIMATION Martin’s Life is finally going international.
The series – the latest of which tackled conversations with Irish parents about same sex marriage - is to be showcased at film festivals in New York and LA in September and October.
The animations – four in the series so far with around 2.5 million views between them on YouTube - centre around ‘Martin’, a recently-return emigrant who’s just trying to adjust to life back at home, living with the parents.
The man behind Martin told DailyEdge.ie that “my parents are very unlike Martin’s in fairness. Their opinions are just made to be as stupid and ridiculous as possible. It’s the situations which are familiar”.
Asked if he’s planning to quench our insatiable thirst for more episodes he said:
We also confirmed precisely how Martin’s dad is mangling the name of ‘Game of Thrones’ in the, er Game of Thrones episode. It’s not ‘Game of Throat’…
Martin’s Life will be screened at both New York University and the University of Southern California as part of the Irish Screen America Festival, which showcases Irish talent in the US.
This sums up every conversation with Irish parents, ever>
