MEAT LOAF IS coming to play in Dublin in May, and it’s probably your last chance to see him.
The singer has said that his ‘Last At Bat’ tour will be his swan song – he’ll play the O2 on 17 May, with tickets on sale on Friday 1 March.
Here are nine reasons why we will do anything for Meat Loaf, but we won’t do that…
1. He was in Fight Club, and his trousers fell down
2. He won’t stand for fat jokes
It would appear that Meat Loaf updates his own Facebook page, posting inspirational quotes, tour updates and comments on current affairs.
His latest status gives his thoughts on the Oscars.
Among them:
I thought Seth Macfarlane did a fantastic job last night at the Oscars… Bunch of crotchety old people(even the ones in there [sic] 20′s who wrote negative reviews) glad I don’t know them.
Adiele [sic] was very very very good , and Shirley Bassey killed it , How old is she ? It pissed me off . Women voices are lucky, their voices don’t change that much. Streisand is Streisand, WOW !!
And then:
Just My thoughts : Can’t wait for your’s : No fat jokes, Politics, or bad language , I will delete !!!!

According to Meat Loaf’s Wikipedia (under a section entitled ‘Accidents and other Incidents’) he has survived:

- Being hit on the head during a shot put event
- Jumping off a stage and breaking both his legs
- Fainting on stage (twice)

8. A Bundoran Town Councillor took legal action against him
In July 2008 Meat Loaf pulled out of a concert he was supposed to perform in Bundoran in County Donegal, citing health and safety concerns.
He said he would go on stage the following night.
According to the Donegal Democrat newspaper Councillor Sean McEniff, who was then Chairman of Bundoran Town Council, said he was going to sue Meat Loaf because of remarks he had made.
At the concent Meat Loaf told the audience that he had “saved you f****** lives… this f****** tent would have fallen down all around you”.
