Will Ferrell, Mel Gibson and the lads were thoroughly engrossed in Fair City on Gogglebox

BET into the Mondo/Kerry-Anne storyline, so they were.

ON THIS WEEK’S Gogglebox Ireland, we were introduced to a special new family – Mel Gibson, Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and John Lithgow from Daddy’s Home 2.

The famouses weren’t given a big flashy introduction – like all the families, their names and location (“Mel, John, Will and Mark, Merrion Street Upper”) simply flashed up at the corner of the screen.

They were tasked with watching some quality Irish programming, including Stetsons and Stilettos, Ireland’s Fittest Family, and Fair City.

The four of them were surprisingly invested in the cheating storyline between Kerry-Anne and Mondo – and the camp was split firmly into “KISS!” (Will Ferrell) and “DON’T DO IT!” (the rest of them).

It was looking like they might declare their love for one another…

…And then it went to an ad break.

John Lithgow: That’s a tease. That’s what keeps us coming back for more.

When Mondo and Kerry-Anne eventually sealed the deal (after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing) there was actual whooping and cheering:

Only for it all to come crashing back down when Mondo’s daughter almost discovered them together – and Mondo started having second thoughts. AGAIN.

Even after all that, they were still enthusiastic about it – though the same could not be said for the Gogglebox regulars.

John Lithgow: That was damned exciting!
Tracie: What a whole load of crap.

Everyone at home could probably agree that watching Will, Mark, John and Mel watch Fair City was more entertaining than the show itself:

Will ye come back to do it again, guys? Sure you’re great at it. Just a thought.
