Are these the 10 best Irish albums of the last year?
THE METEOR CHOICE prize nominations have been announced this afternoon.
The prize aims to reward the best Irish album of the last year, with the final decision made by the judging panel at an event at Dublin’s Vicar Street venue on March 5.
The winner will receive a prize fund of €10,000.
And the nominations are…

Delorentos – Night Becomes Light
The Gloaming – The Gloaming
Hozier – Hozier
James Vincent McMorrow – Post Tropical
Sinead O’Connor – I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss
Damien Rice – My Favourite Faded Fantasy
The Riptide Movement – Getting Through
U2 – Songs Of Innocence
We Cut Corners – Think Nothing
Victor Finn, the chief executive of the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) which provided the prize fund along with the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA), said 2014 had been “an incredible year for Irish music.”
